There are a number of social events taking place at the Guelph09 conference.
This page is to promote those events that are taking place during the conference week.
Registration and Welcome Reception
The Guelph09 Conference committee, the societies of the CSSS, CSA & CSAFM and the departments of Plant Agriculture and Land Resource Science welcome you to a Registration and Welcome Reception to be held August 4th 5:00pm at the University Club, University Centre, Level 5.
Registration and Continental Breakfast
Registration and Continental Breakfast will take place on the mornings of August 5th & 6th 7:15 am at Rozanski Hall.
BBQ and Awards Presentation
BBQ and Awards Ceremony will take place August 6th 7:00pm at Creelman Hall.
Attire for this event is casual.
CSSS Society Sponsored Reception for Students and Post Docs
The CSSS is pleased to invite all graduate and undergraduate students, as well as post-doctoral fellows, attending the conference to join us at the Graduate Lounge (University Center) on August 5th 4:30-6:00pm for a casual reception. We hope to use this opportunity to provide our student members and young professional members with a forum to learn about the Society, meet current Society council members, and find ways in which they can contribute toward the growth of soil science nationally and internationally.
There will be complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.

Graduate Student Welcome Bar-B-Q!
6:30 pm Wednesday, August 5, 2009
The University of Guelph Graduate students from the Plant Agriculture Department and the Land Resource Science Department are hosting a Graduate Student Welcome Bar-B-Q and local brewery tour for visiting students. This event provides an opportunity for students from across the country to meet each other and share in a good time.
6:30 pm: Meet the bus at the south entrance of Rozanski Hall, University of Guelph Campus. (http://www.uoguelph.ca/campus/map/rozanski/). The bus will take everyone to Wellington Brewery for Bar-B-Q Dinner and guided brewery tours.
Please don’t drink and drive. We have arranged for buses to drop you off at your specific hotels after the social event. Bus will shuttle people back to their hotels every ½ hour starting at 9:00 p.m.
