Canadian Society of Agronomy

CSAThe Canadian Society of Agronomy (CSA) is a non-profit, educational and scientific society affiliated with the Agricultural Institute of Canada which is dedicated to enhancing cooperation and coordination among agronomists, to recognizing significant achievements in agronomy and to providing the opportunity to report and evaluate information pertinent to agronomy in Canada

Its Objectives are:
  1. Networking:   to provide opportunities for interaction among members and to act as a conduit for interacting with members of other professional organizations
  2. External Relations and Awareness:   to provide our members with a united voice for making agronomic concerns known to the public and to other organizations.
  3. Internal Communications and Coordination:   to provide opportunities for members to communicate news and scientific findings to the scientific community.

Canadian Society of Soil Sciences

CSSSThe Canadian Society of Soil Science (CSSS) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization for scientists, engineers, technologists, administrators and students involved in professional soil science.

Its Objectives are:
  1. to promote the wise use of soil for the benefit of all society,
  2. to promote research and practical application of findings in soil science and
  3. to promote information and technology exchange among people in professional soil science.

Canadian Society of Agricultural and Forest Meteorology

CSAFMThe Canadian Society of Agricultural and Forest Meteorology (CSAFM) is a group of scientists, professors, retirees, students and environmental consultants who have a special interest in the way vegetated surfaces interact with the atmosphere. The Society was created in to foster interaction amongst Canadian workers in the field of agrometeorology.

Its Objectives are:

  1. To bring about closer cooperation and coordination among professionals interested in agrometeorology in Canada.
  2. To provide the opportunity to report, exchange and evaluate information pertinent to weather and climate effects on agriculture in Canada.

The Department of Plant Agriculture, a unit of the Ontario Agricultural College, is one of the largest agriculture departments in North America. Our faculty have received prestigious awards nationally and internationally for their contributions improving people's daily lives. Our students receive broad inter-disciplinary training in the agricultural sciences including basic and applied plant biology. We are a department with 41 faculty located at 3 campuses in Southern Ontario with access to multiple research stations.

Land Resource Science

LRS

The Department of Land Resource Science, a unit of the Ontario Agricultural College, offers superior educational programs through a unique mix of disciplinary expertise including: soil science, geology, atmospheric science and natural resources management. We study all processes affecting the land surface and its use. Our aim is to improve understanding and management of soil, water and air resources and use this knowledge to improve the quality of human life.
